The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) retain the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles in their first title defense against two heavy hitters. Their opponents were the ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and the AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné. From new champions, to long reigning ones, despite being the champions heading in, this may be considered an upset.
In the final moments of the match, Moné and Athena had some miscommunication. After Nightingale landed Moné with the Death Valley Driver, she went for the cover, and Athena tried to break the pin. However, she hit Moné in the process. Moments later, Moné tried to help Athena but hit her in the face instead.
As the match ends, Harley Cameron took out Athena, but Moné landed Cameron with the Moné Maker. Moné tried the same with Willow, but she reversed it into a rollup to pin the TBS Champion.
Later on, an irate Moné challenges Nightingale for a match this Wednesday on Dynamite.
