Saya Kamitani Retains World of Stardom Title With Dislocated Finger Mid Match

Saya Kamitani is still at the top of STARDOM. She defeated Starlight Kid on Feb. 7 to retain the World of Stardom Championship. This was Kamitani’s ninth successful title defense.

Mid-match, Kamitani suffered a dislocated finger. She had it taped up and finished the match. Occurring about 10 minutes into the match, the referee checked on Kamitani after she countered a dive by Kid. It was confirmed to the crowd that Kamitani dislocated her finger.

Pausing the match, Kamitani’s finger was taped up, and she wrestled for 15 more minutes. Her reign has reached over 400 days.

Kamitani’s next challenger is Sayaka Kurara. This will be a second shot at the title for Kurara while Kamitani has been champion.

Sayaka Kurara: “Saya Kamitani, I will take back everything you’ve stolen! I will become the brightest star in STARDOM! So, let me challenge for that Red Belt!”

Saya Kamitani: “Haaa? What are you even talking about? Do you remember challenging me last year and losing? Or perhaps, like a certain someone somewhere, your brain’s so weak you forgot? It’s impossible. You can’t take everything from me! Go away. Go away. I said go away!”

Sayaka Kurara: “The one who will break your curse is me!”

Elsewhere on Saturday’s card at Supreme Fight, Konami retained the Wonder of Stardom Title against Ami Sohrei in her third successful defense. Her next challenger is Hina.
