Black History Month Spotlight: Mara Sade

Throughout the month of February, Diva Dirt will spotlight one Black women’s wrestler a day. This won’t be a countdown, but just a way to shine light on the past and present Black women of the industry. With that said, these daily articles will not be in any particular order.

Representation matters to marginalized groups, and here at Diva Dirt we focus on giving those individuals the recognition they deserve.

For Feb. 14, we are going to embrace Mara Sade.

Mara Sade looks destined for greatness, she just needs the right opportunity to break through. Originally, a homegrown WWE talent, Sade, formerly known as Jakara Jackson—began her wrestling journey in 2021 after earning a contract through a tryout in Las Vegas. She has often credited legends like Jacqueline Moore and Jazz as major inspirations behind her career. She is now a Knockout for TNA.

During her time in WWE, Sade formed a notable tag team with Lash Legend known as The Meta Girls. The duo earned multiple shots at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships but ultimately fell short of capturing the titles. Despite making significant strides in her in-ring development, Sade was released by WWE in 2025. Meanwhile, Legend has since transitioned to SmackDown.

So far since joining TNA, Sade hasn’t had the best booking to get her to the top, but it is only a matter of time.
