Canadian promotion MLP (Maple Leaf Pro) and Mexican promotion CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) have confirmed a partnership.
In a press release on Feb. 19, the following was announced:
Ontario, Canada & Mexico City — February 19, 2026 — MAPLE LEAF PRO Wrestling, Inc. (MLP) and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) last night announced a landmark promotional partnership designed to expand their global reach, elevate brand visibility, and deliver world-class professional wrestling events featuring talent from both organizations.
The agreement establishes a formal talent exchange that will see MLP promote CMLL stars across Canada, while CMLL will showcase MLP talent throughout Mexico — a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening international awareness and driving commercial growth for both promotions.
“This partnership represents a meaningful step forward in building a truly international wrestling ecosystem,” said Scott D’Amore, President of MAPLE LEAF PRO Wrestling. “CMLL is one of the most respected organizations in the sport, and together we intend to create compelling matchups, unforgettable events, and new opportunities for talent to perform on a global stage.”

Only in Arena México, one of four different arenas owned by CMLL in Mexico, we managed to bring in over 1 Million fans into the Cathedral of Lucha Libre, and we are excited to have those fans witness the matches and action that the pairing of CMLL and MLP will bring to audiences.”
The partnership includes coordinated marketing efforts, joint promotional planning, and licensed use of each organization’s intellectual property in connection with events produced under this agreement.
Fans can expect announcements in the coming months regarding debut appearances, cross- promoted events, and marquee talent matchups born from this international collaboration.
The current and inaugural MLP Women’s Canadian Champion is Gisele Shaw while the current CML Women’s World Champion is Mercedes Moné.
Names on the MLP roster who have participated in MLP events include Shaw, Aurora Teves, Beaa Moss, Harley Cameron, Miyu Yamashita, Taylor Rising, and Zoe Sager.
