Hola a todxs and welcome to the CMLL Weekly Review! The most important night for the CMLL Amazon’s finally arrived; La Noche de Las Amazonas, an all women’s match card featuring AEW, STARDOM, CMLL Talent.
On the eve of their second anniversary with tag team gold, the Mexican National Women’s Tag Team Champions Skadi and Kira defended their titles against the tenacious duo of Métalica and Candela. The challengers had been chasing the titles for a while. Nevertheless, they were no match for the tag experience and chemistry of the reigning champions, thus continuing their 728-day+ reign unscathed.
For the second match of the night, we had former CMLL Japan Women’s Champion Dark Silueta going one on one against STARDOM’s Maika, preceded by their reputation for a strong Japanese style, this match was no exception with Maika taking the win with a Michinoku Driver.
Newcomers Keyra and Garra Negra debuted in tag action, taking on La Catalina and Sanely. But putting their differences aside was not enough for the former rivals, losing in their debut match against La Diva del Ring and La Mujer del Guante Negro.
Las Artemisas competed in a triple treat to determine the winner of the Irma Gonzales Cup. The women had been feuding ever since their disbandment last month in a series of heated exchanges in and out of the ring.
La Magnífica prevailed against all odds, taking the win and the Irma Gonzales Cup, celebrated with the crowd and with lucha legends Irma Gonzáles and her daughter Irma Aguilar. Congrats on her big win!
