Update on TNA Signing Mickie James, TNA Looking at More Possible Knockouts

As reported last week, TNA has signed former five-time WWE Women’s Champion, Mickie James as the latest addition to the Knockouts division.

From what I’m told, the deal was indeed finalised last week as reported. TNA President, Dixie Carter has personally been courting James for the past few months since she and Jeremy Borash attended James’ CD release party in Nashville back in May.

A TNA source tells me that Dixie and Mickie have held several private meetings since then.

Rather unsurprisingly, I’m told that Mickie will be placed as the ‘centrepiece of the division’.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to think that James will make her debut on the live October 7th episode of Impact.

Of course, Mickie already has a history with TNA, competing as Alexis Laree during the Nashville Asylum days back in 2003 prior to signing with WWE.

As well the former WWE Diva, TNA is looking at several other girls, I’m told. There are a few more female wrestlers on TNA’s radar, one of whom is known to Diva Dirt but has opted to remain anonymous. There’s a possibility we could see more girls receive tryouts or contracts in the coming month or so.

TNA recently tried out Becky Bayless (which lead to a contract), Christina Von Eerie and the former Katie Lea within the span of a few weeks.
