AEW to honour Brodie Lee this week with a night of special matches and tributes

AEW owner, Tony Khan, announced this week’s episode of Dynamite will celebrate Brodie Lee’s life. The show will be a tribute to Lee who tragically passed away last week. Khan scheduled a night of special matches featuring Lee’s favourite wrestlers and all members of the Dark Order who will team up in various combinations throughout the night.

This Wednesday on #AEWDynamite, we’ll celebrate the life of Jon Huber (Mr. Brodie Lee) with a show including tributes and a special card of matches dedicated to The Exalted One. This night is intended to honor Jon, but also this is for Amanda, and their sons Brodie (-1) & Nolan.

The Dark Order’s Anna Jay teams with Tay Conti to face Britt Baker and Penelope Ford. Jay, who credits Lee as an integral part of her AEW career, tweeted about the match thanking Lee for everything and hoping to make him proud.

The other matches scheduled for the show are;

• Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy and 10 vs. Team Taz
• Young Bucks and Colt Cabana vs. Matt Hardy and Private Party
• Hangman Page, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds vs. MJF, Santana, and Ortiz
• Lance Archer, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson, vs. Eddie Kingston, The Butcher, and The Blade.

The show was originally titled New Year’s Smash and featured the AEW Women’s World Championship match between Hikaru Shida and Abadon. The title match has been rescheduled for Jan 6, 2021.
