AJ Lee had her first in-ring promo as the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion on the March 2 episode of Raw.
Lee seems to have put Becky Lynch in her rear view mirror and has her eyes set forward to WrestleMania. She plans to be a fighting champion and says that any woman in the locker room who wants a shot, now is the time.
Later in the show, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were backstage chatting about how they were going to get to WrestleMania, specifically Bayley (since she was screwed out of it last year). Valkyria suggested that Bayley goes to talk to Adam Pearce to see if she can challenge AJ for the Women’s IC Title. Bayley agrees, but suggests that Valkyria comes and throws her name in the hat as well because Lynch is no longer champion. As both women head into Pearce’s office, IYO SKY was seen coming out.
The line to AJ’s newly won title is long and the women who want a shot will get a chance in a number one contender gauntlet match next week. It will be Bayley vs. Valkyria vs. SKY vs. Asuka vs. Ivy Nile vs. Raquel Rodriguez. Earlier in the show, Liv Morgan suggested that Rodriguez go after the Women’s IC Title so she could walk into WrestleMania as a champion.
As for Morgan who has made her decision to face Stephanie Vaquer at Mania, had a vignette air. She said she agrees that she is privileged but also says she is sorry that she got signed to WWE at 20 years old while Vaquer was rejected her first tryout.
Prior to AJ causing a lot of comotion through her possible upcoming challengers, she came across Kairi Sane who was verbally assaulted by Asuka.
Rhea Ripley had a segment on stage with IYO SKY. As the winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber, she will be going to WrestleMania to challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Title. Ripley gave a heartfelt goodbye (it seemed) to SKY as she is heading to SmackDown. She seems confident in staying on SmackDown as she vows to become champion at WrestleMania.
