SmackDown talent Aliyah is set to enter the first Royal Rumble match of her career one week from Saturday on Jan. 29. On last week’s SmackDown, Aliyah beat the record of the fastest match as she pinned Natalya in just 3.17 seconds.
Now that she has an accolade to her name, Aliyah sits down with Denise Salcedo who asked her how she is feeling heading into the first big pay-per-view match of her career. She was asked how she feels to be in the ring with the best of the business and plus the legends that are returning.
“It feels incredible because growing up I used to watch Lita, I used to watch Mickie James, I used to watch The Bellas. It’s so cool, on one hand, I get to see all the legends and on the other hand, I will look to my right and I will see Liv Morgan who is like my best friend forever so I am just so excited. It’s going to be a great time. I’m just ready to go in there and kick ass and win. It’s going to be a crazy dynamic. My favorite part of the Rumble is just not knowing who will be coming out next. There’s still a whole bunch of people who haven’t been announced. The surprise within that I am so excited for. That’s always been my favorite part.”
During the interview, Aliyah also mentions what one of her goals will be and that is to become the first-ever Arab female talent to participate in the Middle East in the upcoming Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia.
“We’re heading to Saudi for Elimination Chamber. No matches have really been announced. It would be an honor to be the first-ever Arab female superstar to perform in the Middle East and that’s always been a huge goal of mine.”
