Athena has become the fourth woman to hold the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship as she won the vacant title on Saturday. The Warrior Wrestling promotion held its 21st show over the weekend and a Triple Threat was booked to determine the new champion.
The title became vacant after Thunder Rosa became the AEW Women’s World Champion and chose to relinquish it.
In a match lasting just over 17-minutes, Athena defeated both Shazza McKenzie and Skye Blue to capture her first piece of gold since returning back to the ring after her time with WWE. Athena picked up the win after delivering the Eclipse and pinning McKenzie.
Athena attempted to capture this title off of Thunder Rosa twice before. Their first encounter came to a 30-minute draw and the second was a Triple Threat that also included Skye Blue. Rosa retained in that encounter.
