Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) are heading to the semi-finals in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament. This tournament is to crown the very first women’s tag team champions in AEW.
This was a huge victory for Nightingale and Cameron as they defeated two long reigning champions, the TBS Champion Mercedes Moné and the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena. Cameron got the win on Athena. Babes of Wrath take on Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) in the semi-finals.
The other side of the bracket still has its first round matches to go. Those will be Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir taking on TayJay and Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa.
Later in the night a huge first out of possible three Battle for Advantage matches took place. The advantage at stake is for Blood and Guts which takes place next Wednesday, Nov. 12. This will be the first ever women’s Blood and Guts match with a total of 12 women participating.
In this advantage match, Megan Bayne got the victory over Mina Shirakawa. Shirakawa is a late stand in for Queen Aminata who is not medically cleared to compete.
Bayne picked up the win off of the Marina Shafir distraction. Shafir locked a chokehold on Toni Storm, who was on commentary, calling Bayne a Big Bitch. Shirakawa took her eyes off of Bayne and landed into a running power slam. This would go on to empty out all of the participants for Blood and Guts.
First, Triangle of Madness joined the heel side with Bayne and Shafir. Then the Babes of Wrath and Jamie Hayter joined to even the odds. Mercedes Moné came out as the last member of the Blood and Guts heel team, but thought better not. Only for Kris Statlander to round out the baby face team, take out Moné, and join the brawl in the ring.
The baby face team stood tall in the ring as the heels retreated up the ramp.
This Saturday on Collision, to continue the Best 2 out of 3 matches to determine who gets Blood And Guts advantage, we first will have Jamie Hayter taking on Skye Blue. If Hayter wins, that means we are tied. Bayne won for the heel side already. If we go to a third and final advantage match, we’ll see Thekla taking on Harley Cameron.
