Backstage News On Optimism From Talent In WWE After Raw

WWE is under new leadership. Vince McMahon announced his retirement on July 22 and this change led to Stephanie McMahon being made Co-CEO along with Nick Khan and Triple H becoming head of creative. Since then, this has created a lot of optimism within the company moving forward and it started showing at SummerSlam this past weekend.

On the Aug. 1 episode of Raw this week all eyes were on the product looking forward to seeing some changes already taking place. According to a backstage report from Fightful Select it did just that and gave optimism to a lot of the talent.

Fightful’s report continues stating that they were told the show would be a “statement” from the new regime. This resulted in fresh matchups, more wrestling and stakes, and more women’s wrestling/programming throughout. They added that not only people at the show seemed excited. They have heard from numerous wrestlers across multiple brands that have indicated that they have a renewed optimism with Triple H heading up creative. One NXT talent said that Dakota Kai being brought back so quickly was a great sign, and makes them feel hopeful for their own future as well.

Furthermore, two top talents in WWE said that they were excited to not wrestle the same person every week, and hoped that was a key move going forward. Fightful says that after speaking to over two dozen talent, they have not had anyone raise particular concerns within the roster about Vince’s exit from creative, which speaks volumes. Triple H has been credited for having visions and integrating things that were heavily Vince McMahon projects, such as Maximum Male Models.
