On the June 9 episode of Raw, Bayley returned after being absent since WrestleMania, where Becky Lynch replaced her as Lyra Valkyria’s tag team partner. This was after Lynch attacked Bayley, which Lynch admitted to a week later.
Since then, Valkyria has had her hands full with Lynch. They won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles together at WrestleMania, and then lost them the following night on Raw. Lynch turned on Valkyria, and for the past six weeks their feud has become very personal. So much so, that Lynch defeated Valkyria to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion over the weekend at Money in the Bank.
Lynch took the ring and trolled the fans who did not greet her with “you deserve it” chants. She blamed Valkyria for attacking her post match at the Money in the Bank event even though Lynch egged her on and belittled her. So this time, Lynch wanted Valkyria to come out to the ring and raise her hand correctly.
Valkyria’s music did hit and the former champion did make her way down to the ring. However, it was a returning Bayley who attacked Lynch from behind. Lynch attempted to escape, but Valkyria tossed her back in the ring. Bayley went for a Rose Plant, but the new Women’s IC Champ was able to escape into the crowd.
Elsewhere on Raw, the first match of the Queen of the Ring tournament kicked off. Roxanne Perez won and has advanced to the semi-finals. She defeated Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan, and Rhea Ripley. Raquel Rodriguez did get involved, but Perez capitalized by pinning Sane only after Sane was covering Morgan. Sane hit the InSane elbow on Morgan and during the count, Perez rushed back in the win and won with a jack knife pin on Sane.
Later on as Perez was celebrating her win with Judgment Day, another awkward moment between Perez and Morgan took place. Perez explains that she did try to help Morgan and said she stopped Sane from pinning her. Morgan responded “is that what you did? Congrats then.”
Asuka will be returning next week. She will be in a QOTR first round match against Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Stephanie Vaquer.
