Bayley has mentioned several weeks back that she was going to host and open up a seminar for indie wrestlers. She sat down with Nikki Bella on the Nikki & Brie podcast to discuss this a bit further and her role she is playing in it.
“I’ve always pictured myself continuing on with wrestling and wanting to open a school someday, and I’ll be running a seminar next month to kind of wet my feet in that stuff… I chose a certain amount of women just to make sure that everybody—it’s a three day seminar, but I want everybody to have their time and not be overlooked or not get enough attention. I want to be able to break things down with everybody.
The main reason I want to do this was—one, because there’s so many talented women out there that are unsigned right now. And you’re seeing it more and more every week. It’s beautiful to see it grow, but I don’t want there to be this huge gap of independent wrestlers and women that are signed or people that are signed—whether it’s TNA, WWE, AEW, whatever it is, somebody with a contract and someone without a contract.
I know there’s a big group of us that care about independent wrestlers, and we need them because we’re not going to be here forever. We need them to be as ready as they can when they get these contracts, and I think this seminar can open doors and can open opportunities.“
