Bayley vs. Naomi is reportedly the plan at WrestleMania for the SmackDown Women’s Title

WrestleMania is rapidly approaching and for the women’s titles across all brands, the picture is becoming clearer. We already know that Charlotte Flair will use her Royal Rumble win to face Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.

RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, is waiting to hear her opponent announced. This will be whoever is victorious in the Elimination Chamber match on March 8. Currently, there is no word on the Women’s Tag Team Titles as Asuka is still in contention for the RAW Women’s Title.

Lastly, we have the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Bayley has held the title twice since May and is the longest combined reigning champion at 270+ days at the time of this writing. This begs the question though, who will be her challenger at the biggest show of them all?

The current report from Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer is that Naomi will get the nod at WrestleMania to be Bayley’s opponent. She recently returned during the Royal Rumble and has made a huge impact since her return to SmackDown a few weeks ago. Bayley recently retained her title against Lacey Evans last month and now has her hands busy with Carmella. Carmella nearly came within mere seconds of becoming a two-time champion herself last week. This was of course halted by a cheating Bayley who always pulls out the win.

Before making it to WrestleMania, we still have a few events to go through. Bayley has announced that she will be defending her title at the Super ShowDown event. Her challenger will be decided by who wins this week on SmackDown between Carmella vs. Naomi.

So it appears that even if Carmella does face Bayley at Super ShowDown, Naomi will be the one to get another WrestleMania moment.

This has not been confirmed as of yet by WWE.
