On this week’s episode of Raw, it was the last stop for the red brand ahead of Wrestlepalooza which takes place this Saturday.
At Wrestlepalooza it will be the return to the ring for AJ Lee as she teams with CM Punk to take on Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. On Raw, both couples came face-to-face as a final build up. While Rollins and Lynch came out separately to their entrances, CM Punk joined AJ in hers. He mentioned that as well to show his support for his wife. Both couples threw the blame back and forth as to who started this rivalry and how the women were entered into it.
Lee got in a few good jabs at Lynch. While Lynch says she read Lee’s book, Lee said she can’t say the same. Lee also said Lynch’s face has a constipated look and that she is a Puerto Rican from New Jersey who sometimes shanks a chick. AJ says that neither Rollins nor Lynch predicted that she would return to even the playing field. Rollins attempted to pull what Punk did on AJ’s return and say he wouldn’t put his hands on a woman but knows someone who will. This caused Lynch to act angrily and leave the ring only to return and deliver a ManHandle Slam to Lee.
Elsewhere on Raw, Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY signed the contract backstage for their match this Saturday at Wrestlepalooza. Asuka would interject and play a bit of match maker herself as she set up a match between Vaquer and Kairi Sane which Adam Pearce agreed to. Prior to Vaquer heading out for her match against Sane, Rhea Ripley stopped her and let her know that whoever emerges as champion after this weekend, she wants first dibs.
Vaquer was able to get the win over Sane and garner some positive steam heading into Wrestlepalooza. Asuka confronts Vaquer after the match causing SKY to rush towards the ring to separate Asuka from Vaquer. SKY wants to keep this civil and she shook the hand of Vaquer as Asuka and Sane left.
Moments later backstage, SKY tells Asuka once again she wants to handle her upcoming title match alone. She doesn’t want any help.
