Big Title Changes At Wrestle Queendom VIII Plus Charlie (Dakota Kai) Returns To The Ring

Pro Wrestling EVE hosted its Wrestle Queendom VIII on International Women’s Day, March 8.

Several championships were on the line at this big event, and two big titles changed hands. First, there is a new NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion as Alex Windsor defeated STARDOM’s Syuri in perhaps the biggest match in Windsor’s career. This was Syuri’s first title defense after winning the gold from Saya Kamitani in January. In December, Windsor took the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship from Mercedes Mone; now she is a double champion.

The second big title change was the Eve Championship, where Session Moth Marina dethroned Rhio. Rhio held the title for 121 days.

This event also marked the return to the ring of Charlie, formerly known as Dakota Kai in WWE. Charlie took on Kris Statlander for the Eve International Championship. Despite Charlie’s anticipated return, Statlander retained.

Willow Nightingale defended her AEW TBS Championship against Nina Samuels. She successfully retained, as this was her third title defense in this current reign. Nightingale is the only woman to have held this belt twice in its history. She will continue to be a fighting champion as she faces the newly crowned CMLL Women’s Champion, Persephone, this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite with the TBS Title on the line.
