Throughout the month of February, Diva Dirt will spotlight one (or more) Black women’s wrestler a day. This won’t be a countdown, but just a way to shine light on the past and present Black women of the industry. With that said, these daily articles will not be in any particular order.

For Feb. 24, we are going to discuss the current (at the time of this writing) WWE Women’s Champion, Jade Cargill.
There’s just something about aura, and Jade Cargill absolutely has it. From the moment she appears, her look, confidence, and presentation command attention in a way that feels effortless.
Of Jamaican descent, Cargill began her journey into professional wrestling in 2018 when she started training for the business. Before stepping into the ring, she was a college basketball player, which helped shape the athleticism and power she brings to her in-ring style.
She has often named Chyna, Jacqueline, and Jazz as key inspirations. These three women are pioneers known for strength, toughness, and breaking barriers. You you can see elements of their influence in the commanding presence that Cargill carries today.
Cargill was mentored and trained by several major names in the industry, including Mark Henry, Bryan Danielson, Ron Simmons, and Dustin Rhodes, among others.
She made her official in-ring debut with All Elite Wrestling in 2020, where she was immediately positioned as a dominant force. During her three-year run with the company, Cargill became the inaugural AEW TBS Championship holder and established an undefeated streak that lasted over 500 days. She compiled an impressive 60–2 record in the promotion, with her only losses coming at the hands of Kris Statlander.
In 2023, Cargill shocked many when she made the jump to WWE. There, she has held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Bianca Belair and is the current WWE Women’s Champion in her first reign. She is walking into WrestleMania 42 with the belt this year.
