Throughout the month of February, Diva Dirt will spotlight one (or more) Black women’s wrestler a day. This won’t be a countdown, but just a way to shine light on the past and present Black women of the industry. With that said, these daily articles will not be in any particular order.
Representation matters to marginalized groups, and here at Diva Dirt we focus on giving those individuals the recognition they deserve.

February 18th we are going to see Kiana James.
Kiana James means business. She is going on five years in wrestling as she started training in 2021. She was trained by Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze at their Flatbacks Wrestling School. She received further training at the WWE Performance center. Before WWE, she first appeared under the ring name Xtina Kay in a match for AEW.
James made her debut in WWE on the NXT brand just four years ago in February. Since then, she had been a focal point of NXT heading into the NXT 2.0 era. She is a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, pairing with Fallon Henley in a unique partnership. She is one of only three Black women (Ember Moon, Kayden Carter) to hold the NXT Women’s Tag Team belts before they championships were deactivated.
James spent a little over two years in NXT before earning a call-up to the main roster as part of the Raw brand. However, her momentum was halted when a leg injury sidelined her for more than a year. After making her return, she was moved to SmackDown, where she has balanced roles as both an in-ring competitor and Giulia’s manager.
Recently, James has been reminding fans of her in-ring ability, delivering an impressive performance in the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble by lasting over 27 minutes. She also teamed with Giulia to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, though the duo ultimately fell short.
