Britt Baker Not Going To WWE Despite Rumors, Still With AEW

Ah, the spreading of misinformation is at it again. And this time it is Jonathan Coachman, because why wouldn’t it be?

Former WWE announcer and interviewer, Coachman discusses some “breaking news” on his podcast, Behind the Turnbuckle.

“Alright, so I just got this in real time. You guys know, I’ve just been breaking news left and right, and when it’s in context, I have yet to be wrong,” Coachman teased. “So, I just found out there’s a name, a female name, out there that is this close to signing with WWE. Any guesses?”

Coachman’s co-host Tommy Carlucci asked, “The one from AEW, Britt Baker?” Coachman immediately confirmed by saying “Ding ding ding ding. Gone from AEW, close. My sources keep coming to your boy!” he said “She is ready, she’s so ready. She’s got the built-in storyline, and she got buried because she pushed back. She spoke up about what was going on, and in wrestling, you know you can’t do that.” (Fightful/Transcript)

Fightful Select shoots down this rumor. Britt Baker is still in AEW and is in a five year contract that was signed in late 2021. Further, WWE source reached out to Fightful and explained that they checked and claimed that Baker was always a welcome face when visiting the shows in years past, but they have not discussed her coming to WWE in recent years.

Baker has been off TV since November where she faced Penelope Ford on Dynamite. Fightful has not heard of creative plans for Baker, if they exist. It has been said that she is off TV dealing with personal matters.
