Charlotte Flair proud to have normalised women as main event wrestlers

Charlotte Flair is one of WWE’s most decorated superstars. She is a Grand Slam champion, 13 time women’s champion and regular main eventer.

Flair was at the forefront of the WWE’s ‘Women’s Evolution’ that revolutionalised the promotion’s women’s division. The focus on the division saw her, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch become regular headliners of pay-per-views, RAW and SmackDown on multiple occasions.

Flair along with Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch became the first women to headline WrestleMania.

Charlotte was a guest on the Arroe Collins podcast. During the interview she spoke about her accomplishments and proudly stated that they have normalized women as main event wrestlers.

Here’ what Charlotte had to say;

“No one says, ‘that was a great women’s match.’ No, it was just a great match. We are equals all around. The women right now have put so much time and effort into the style, the character, taking pieces from the past, growing with the future, and laying it all out there and having the mindset that just because it’s female, it’s any less. We’re storytellers and that’s what we do, that’s why everyone is talking about it. There is no difference, man or woman. Anyone can be the main event and if we are the main event, no one is going ‘oh my gosh, women are the main event.’ We’ve normalized it.”

Recently, ‘The Queen’ revealed that she doesn’t need an all-women’s show to show that she is the best.

Charlotte is currently feuding with RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. The two rivals clash over the title at Money in the Bank in a few weeks time.
