Chelsea Green Retains US Title On A Festive NXT; Tatum Paxley Brings The Chainsaw

WWE NXT aired a pre-taped holiday episode last night, giving talent and staff some well-earned time off. For this week and next, I’ll be keeping things intentionally brief, short recaps to get everyone through the holidays before the road to the Royal Rumble officially heats back up.

Izzi Dame (w/ Shawn Spears) vs. Lola Vice

Vice and Dame traded control early in a competitive opener. Dame leaned on power and opportunistic offense, while Vice fired back with urgency and strikes. The turning point came when Tatum Paxley appeared wielding a running chainsaw, sending Spears scrambling and creating the opening Vice needed. A well-timed backfist sealed it.
WINNER: Lola Vice

Kelani Jordan immediately attacked Vice post-match.

Thea Hail & Blake Monroe Confrontation

Fresh off last week’s unexpected title win, NXT Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail addressed the crowd with raw emotion, reflecting on her growth and journey through NXT.

A visibly rattled Blake Monroe interrupted, dismissing the title change as a fluke and demanding an immediate rematch. Hail stood her ground, granting Monroe a rematch at New Year’s Evil. The confrontation escalated into a brief brawl, with officials pulling them apart as Hail stood tall with her championship.

Backstage Notes

  • Sol Ruca, alongside Zaria, spoke about rebuilding momentum after a turbulent year.
  • Blake Monroe vented backstage, briefly crossing paths with members of the Evolve roster before storming off.
  • Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid exchanged words with Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair, leading to Jayne requesting a warm-up match against Sinclair next week.

Shiloh Hill & Skylar Raye vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Arianna Grace

Holiday weapons, slapstick chaos, and unhinged energy ruled this one. From candy cane kendo sticks to pine cones on a table, the match leaned fully into festive mayhem. Hill’s power and Raye’s aerial offense proved decisive. Fun stuff, Arianna and Stacks had me cracking up the entire time.
WINNERS: Shiloh Hill & Skylar Raye

Chelsea Green (w/ Ethan Page & Alba Fyre) vs. Sol Ruca

The main event delivered a fast-paced TV bout with interference constantly looming. Ruca showcased her athleticism, but the numbers game caught up to her. After outside chaos distracted the referee, Green capitalized with Unpretty-her to steal the win.
WINNER: Chelsea Green

Post-match, Zaria speared Green and Fyre, and Ruca followed with a double Soul Snatcher, ending the night with momentum firmly back in their corner.

A festive, fast-moving episode designed to bridge the gap between now and New Year’s Evil. For the holiday week and next, expect short-form recaps from me as we enjoy the season, full coverage returns when NXT goes live again on January 6.

Happy holidays to everyone!
