Top independent star Daizee Haze made her first appearance at a wrestling show in 16 months last Friday, accompanying MsChif to the ring for her match against Sean Vincent at a Dynamo Pro Wrestling event in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
This marks the first time Daizee has been seen in any sort of capacity since CHIKARA’s “Chikarasaurus Rex” event on July 31st, 2011 when she defeated Mima Shimoda before later being viciously chokeslammed by Claudio Castagnoli following his defeat to Daizee’s friend Sara Del Rey.
CHIKARA announced shortly after the show that she would be “taking an indefinite hiatus to focus on her health and recovery”.
There was much Internet speculation about Daizee’s health in the final months of her career before her hiatus, with fans gossiping that she looked too thin.
Thoughts: This is great news. Although we don’t know when we’ll be seeing Daizee wrestle again, it’s encouraging to know that she’s alive and well, even if it’s just a one-off appearance. Hopefully she’s had time to recover fully from the issues she’s had, because Daizee is one of the hardest workers and smartest minds in the business, and her absence is a huge loss to women’s wrestling. Good to see you back Daizee!
