It is being reported by Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful that Dakota Kai has been released by WWE.
Moments ago, Sapp posted on Twitter that NXT releases were coming. Kai was the first name confirmed. Dakota is a former two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion and won the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Raquel Gonzalez. The duo would win the tag titles for a second time at Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend only to drop the gold three days later back to Toxic Attraction.
Kai first signed with WWE in 2016 and took part in the first Mae Young Classic Tournament. She participated in all three women’s WarGames matches.
Kai’s last match was against Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship that took place on the April 12 episode of NXT 2.0. Rose retained.
