Dakota Kai Says She’s “A Ways Away” From Being Cleared

One third of Damage CTRL, Dakota Kai, has been sidelined with an ACL injury since May. This is not the first injury to her knee in her career, but Kai did make a return appearance over the weekend at SummerSlam. She celebrated in ring with Bayley and the new WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.

During the SummerSlam press conference after the event, Kai confirmed she was just there to support SKY.

“I came because this is such a big moment for [IYO] and us as a group. I’m still a ways away from being in-ring cleared. I had to be here for her tonight. This is such a crazy accomplishment for her, representing Damage CTRL. 2024 is about to be crazy. We’re getting there. I’m squatting heavy.” (Fightful)

ACL injuries generally have talent out for nine months to a year.
