Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Dakota Kai) are now the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Just two weeks after Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Damage CTRL in the tournament finals to win the vacant titles, their first reign as a team already comes to an end. On the Sept. 12 episode of Raw, a rematch took place that awas given to Damage CTRL because when Aliyah pinned Kai two weeks ago she wasn’t the legal competitor.
The final moments of the match had Rodriguez and SKY spill to the outside which had Aliyah get a near fall on Kai from a roll-up. Aliyah went for another pin after delivering a facebuster to Kai near the ropes. Bayley was ringside and placed Kai’s foot on the rope to cause the referee to stop the count.
Rodriguez went after Bayley on to be taken down by a moonsault from SKY. With the distraction on the outside, Kai delivered the Kai-Ropractor to Aliyah to get the pin and win the tag team titles.
Damage CTRL celebrated on the stage after their victory. This would not be the last time we saw the faction during the show.
A bit later in the show, Bianca Belair issued her open challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship. It was answered by Sonya Deville. Deville made her way to the ring on the mic saying she is answering the challenge because it was essentially Belair’s fault that her authority position was terminated.
Belair would retain her championship after defeating Deville using the KOD to get the pin. After Belair retained, Bayley made her way out to the ring and teased Belair about her wanting them to have a match together. Bayley continued to say that Belair will get her match when she decides as SKY and Kai surrounded the ring. Damage CTRL plays the numbers game on Belair as she tries to fight off
all three members.
