We have a new AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and her name is Faby Apache. She is now a four-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion making her the first woman to hold the title more than three times.
At a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event over the weekend, one of the highlighted matches was for the vacant Reina de Reinas Championship. The title had been vacated by Taya Valkyrie prior to her signing with WWE.
There was a six-way match in which Apache emerged victoriously. The match also included Lady Shani, Chik Tormenta, Lady Maravilla, Sexy Star, and Flammer. The gimmick of Sexy Star is now being portrayed by Hija De Gatubela.
IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo made a surprise appearance and sat in on commentary.
After the match, and a new winner celebrating, Purrazzo entered the ring to introduce herself to Apache and lay down a challenge. The challenge is a Title vs. Title match with the winner walking away with both titles. Apache accepted the challenge and the match will take place at Triplemania. The event does not have a date set as of yet. After accepting the match, Purrazzo would attack Apache.
Purrazzo recently defended her title successfully against Tenille Dashwood at IMPACT’s Rebellion pay-per-view. The next special event for IMPACT is Under Siege which takes place on May 15. A Knockouts Title match has not been booked for that event as of yet.
