Diva Couture: Guest Referees, Stripes Aren’t For Everyone

We’ve seen plenty of guest referees in the past…not exactly everyone we’d want to see in that position but we’ve seen lots of them. The Divas have often been placed into this unfortunate and random position plenty of times. Not only do they have to blindly walk around throughout the match not really knowing what to do…but they have to wear those HIDEOUS vertical stripes. Ladies, I feel your pain.

A referee outfit is not flattering, just ask any salesperson at your local Foot Locker. It’s not a good look and not everyone can pull it off.

See what I mean.

However, there have been some Divas and Knockouts who have really taken that frumpy referee outfit and made it spicy again! Let’s take a look at some women who made that zebra looking outfit exoctic.

Karen Jarrett: Karen was certainly a pleasant surprise as a guest referee…or in wrestling for that matter. Her attitude was definitely brought into her referee outfit that she donned for the Knockouts title match at last year’s Bound For Glory.

Maria Kanellis: Towards the middle of 2008, Maria assumed the role of guest referee for the majority of the Divas matches over on Smackdown. Every week, Maria added a little bit of flare to the generally bland outfit. Whether it be a studded belt or ruffled boots, the fiery Diva made it work!

Mickie James: On the Impact before the 2010 Bound For Glory pay-per-view, Mickie James was announced as the guest referee for the Knockouts title match. Mickie made a big impact in one of her debut appearances by donning a tight fitting pair of black jeans with a flashy belt and tied referee top.

Stephanie McMahon: The Billionaire Princess was one of the focal points of Triple H and Chris Jericho’s feud around Wrestlemania X8. Stephanie ended up being the referee in a match between Triple H and Kurt Angle where she stunned the crowd in this outfit.

Taryn Terrell: The most recent woman to wear the stripes is the lovely Taryn Terrell. Taryn made her return to wrestling a few weeks ago and seems to be the new referee for Knockouts matches. I don’t think fans mind seeing her in this outfit on a weekly basis.

It’s a tough outfit to pull off but the women who have taken their personality into the outfit and made it their own really seem to be the best dressed with it. Love or hate their outfits, one thing is for sure…no one wants to see Earl Hebner in any of these.
