Just making this list before she turns 30 in August, Kris Statlander has been wrestling for nearly a decade as she began her wrestling journey in 2016. She was trained under the tutelage of Brian Myers and Pat Buck at the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy. Her first few years, she worked feverishly on the indies. She’s collected gold from many promotions such as AAW, VPW, and WSU. Stat has been named the number 6 women’s wrestler out of the Top 10 by Sports Illustrated in 2019.
In 2019, she made an appearance with Karissa (later to become Elektra Lopez) on SmackDown in a talent enhancement match against then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, The IIconics. Statlander and Karissa went by the team name The Brooklyn Belles.
Later in 2019, she joined AEW in the promotion’s first year as a company and she remains with them to this day. Despite an ACL injury which set her back, she is a former TBS Champion. She defeated the inaugural champion Jade Cargill. This ended Cargill’s 60-match undefeated streak and 508 days as TBS Champion. Statlander would go on in her career to team up with Willow Nightingale and eventually become bitter rivals.
Statlander is now potentially being positioned at the top of the division as she is two wins away in the current Owen Hart Cup Tournament for 2025. The winner will go on to face the current AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. In her way though is first Jamie Hayter and then Mercedes Mone. If she makes it to Mone, Mone is currently undefeated in AEW during her first year with the company.
Statlander is a fan favorite, and the crowd is always behind her, even when she was briefly a heel against Nightingale. She has the potential to become one of the top stars in AEW, or wherever she would like to be, in the years to come.
