Tonight is the last AEW Dynamite before we head to AEW Redemption this Sunday!
The AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla, meets face-to-face with her challenger, Willow Nightingale, before they face off at Redemption. Wrestling legend, Mick Foley, joins them as a special guest moderator.
Nightingale says she’s one match away from achieving her dream in AEW, but Thekla is not buying into the sunshine and rainbows she “masks” herself with and looks to beat the poison out of her. Nightingale says that she has a lot in common with Thekla, as they both want to walk away a champion. Thekla tells her to “smile anyway” when she loses, and the gloves come off. The champ looks to hurt Nightingale with her belt, but meets a heavy Pounce instead.
Next, we hear from Maya World, because this Sunday at Redemption she faces the current TBS Champion, Hikaru Shida, for the title. World says she will take her championship, but Shida says World is just a blip in the era of the ace.
This Saturday on Collision, it’s challengers vs. champions as World teams up with Nightingale to take on Thekla and Shida.
Before the big pay-per-view, we have gold on the line as the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, Divine Dominion, defend their titles in a No Disqualifications match against the Sisters of Sin. The Triangle of Madness had recently won the Artist of Stardom Championships in Japan, and looks to continue their tag team success back in AEW.
Before the bell can even ring, Skye Blue and Julia Hart try to choke them out with kendo sticks. Megan Bayne and Lena Kross try to outpower them, but spill outside of the ring. Afterwards, the Sisters of Sin immediately set up a table. The Divine Dominion is in a bit of trouble until Blue gets busted open due to a miscue by Hart and Kross reversing to drive Hart through a chair. Blue unfortunately meets a chair not once but twice, as Bayne pelts it straight at her.
The Divine Dominion sets up a table on the stage, but it doesn’t work in their favor as Bayne gets driven through it. All four women find themselves back in the ring with their titles in hand. The Sisters of Sin land a double dose of DDTs to the Divine Dominion right on their Stardom titles, but only to get a two-count.
Kross gets caught in the corner, but Bayne makes the save as she chokeslams Blue into the table. Hart locks in an Octopus Hold on Bayne, but Bayne powers through and converts it into a Tombstone Piledriver. The Divine Dominion double team Hart to successfully defend their tag team titles.
