Ember Moon uncovers that she considered retirement last year

Ember Moon is riding high as she won the newly introduced NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles last week alongside Shotzi Blackheart. Her return to NXT last October was a much-needed rejuvenation for her career and passion for wrestling. She opens up on her social media that early last year she had considered hanging up her wrestling boots and retiring from something she has such a passion for.

“It’s taken me a few days to process this. Last year around this time I was thinking I would never enter the ring again and was considering retiring. And now I can call myself champion again. 2 years 11months since the last time I held gold. And I am doing it with someone I truly consider a sister, Shotzi Blackheart. She has been there to lift me up , to make me laugh, have my back, and even hold me back when I was wrong. Shotzi makes me want to be soo much better as a person and a performer. We are 2 peas in a smoke filled tank. I love ya ttp. For the first time in a long time, I am having fun and my passion has been reignited on an entirely different level. Thank you Triple H! This is only the beginning… and I am soo thankful to be HOME at NXT!”

Moon comments that returning to NXT has reignited her on a different level. When she returned in early October, she had the NXT Women’s Title in her eyesight, however, a partnership with Blackheart led her to where she is now.

Prior to going out with an injury, Moon was struggling to find any sort of footing on the main roster. Her unique injury to her Achilles had sidelined the superstar for a year and placing her with the NXT brand upon her return seems to have been the correct move.

This championship win marks almost three years since Moon has held a title. She became NXT Women’s Champion in November 2017 when she won a Fatal 4-way for the vacant title at TakeOver: WarGames. Her reign came to an end in April 2018 when she was defeated by Shayna Baszler.
