In a fantastic announcement, we will soon witness the first-ever NXT Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic!
For the past five years, the men’s locker room has been paying tribute to the late Dusty Rhodes by competing in a tag team tournament. The sixth annual tournament for the men starts next week. Finally, the women get to participate.
This news broke on tonight’s New Year’s Evil event. General Manager William Regal said that based on a lot of consideration and looking at the depth and strength of the women’s roster, the women will soon have their own tournament.
If there is one place to have this tag team tournament it is on the NXT brand. Regal’s sentiment is shared with many fans when he says there is strength and depth in the women’s division on the black and gold brand.
Dusty Rhodes was a huge inspiration for many people and for the women’s roster he was a huge cheerleader.
