Aliyah and Carmella

Admittedly this pairing first came to mind because aesthetically they would look great together. They have similar styles when it comes to ring gear and it would be fun to see them play off each other. Beyond their fashion sense there is real potential here though.

If the current duo of Carmella and R-Truth has proven anything, it’s that the former is great at the theatrical component of professional wrestling. She knows how to create an eye-catching and entertaining entrance. She’s also a decent talker. If nothing else, her promos are polished, given her experience on the main roster.

Aliyah would bring the technical ability and athleticism to the team. She trained as a circus performer when she was a teenager, so she is no stranger to acrobatics.

The team could play off each other’s strengths and help develop any of their shortcomings. Carmella showed a lot of improvement in-ring this year during her run as SmackDown Women’s Champion, but tag team wrestling is something she could excel at.

As for Aliyah, teaming with a former champion and established main roster Superstar could give her the spotlight she needs to showcase her talent. Mella could also help her develop into a more entertaining character.

In an interesting coincidence, Aliyah’s first match on SmackDown was against Carmella.
