Grace vs. Purrazzo announced for Knockouts Title at Slammiversary

IMPACT has announced that Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will defend her title against Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary.

In late May, Purrazzo started to have vignettes air on IMPACT merely a month after her release from WWE. She was part of the major release from the company in April as a result of budget costs due to the COVID pandemic. As soon as she made her first appearance just a few weeks ago, she went directly for the Knockouts Champion.

After Grace successfully defended her title against former champion Taya Valkyrie, Purrazzo appeared after the main event. At first, she appeared to want to just shake the hand of the champion in a congratulatory appreciation. This quickly turned into an armbar that had the champion wincing on the mat.

The attack would continue the following week as Purrazzo attacked Grace during a backstage interview. The two would appear on the Busted Open Radio show this week. Grace explained how Purrazzo was going after the biggest dog in the yard and she gets that, however, all this is doing is pissing the champion off.

On tonight’s IMPACT, Purrazzo had her debut match. She walked away with a win against Alisha as she received a submission victory with an armbar.

Slammiversary will take place on July 18 on pay-per-view.

What are your thoughts on this title match? Do you see Grace retaining or will Purrazzo pull out a big win to cement her arrival in IMPACT? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
