In action tonight, we have the joshi standouts of the AEW women’s roster as Hikaru Shida and Mina Shirakawa face off on AEW Dynamite!
Shirakawa is on the search for whoever took out “Timeless” Toni Storm a while back. She has a list of suspects and sets her sights on Shida as she doesn’t trust her.
The two are on an even playing field until Shida lands a Running Knee on Shirakawa. Shirakawa is rocked, and Shida lands another Knee Strike with Shirakawa on the apron.
Shida escapes from a Figure Four and catches Shirakawa into the steel steps. She carries Shirakawa from the floor to the apron and drives Shirakawa’s head onto the apron. Shida hits a Meteora from the top rope only to get a two count, and follows up with Tamashii only to get a nearfall again.
Shirakawa refuses to give up and delivers a hard Rolling Elbow as they both end up crashing onto the canvas. She then lands a Dropkick and a Slingblade from the top rope, and locks in the Figure Four, only for Shida to roll out.
Shida looks for the kendo stick, but Shirakawa takes it out of her grasp. Kris Statlander wants this to be an even matchup, but this distraction causes Shirakawa to get distracted and lose the match to a Falcon Arrow by Shida.
Renee Paquette is backstage with the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Alex Windsor. After losing her title opportunity against AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla, last week on Collision, Windsor is still looking to get her hands on “The Toxic Spider.” The CMLL Women’s World Champion, Persephone, arrives and proposes they team up to take on The Traingle of Madness on Collision this weekend.
What did you think of tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Can Persephone and Windsor take down The Triangle of Madness? Who had really done it to Storm? Let us know what you thought below!
