Hikaru Shida returns to AEW on Rampage seeking vengeance; Tay Conti sends final message to Jade Cargill before Revolution

Hikaru Shida has made her return to AEW. On this week’s Rampage, Shida showed up searching for some vengeance on Serena Deeb. She was taken out by Deeb in a vicious attack two months ago in January.

Deeb had her next 5 Minute Rookie Challenge where she currently has been 5-0. This week, it was Leila Grey to answer the challenge. Grey tried to be smart about the five-minute time frame and have Deeb chase her outside the ring, but she wasn’t able to stay away from the Professor. She tapped out giving Deeb the victory.

Post-match, Deeb locked Grey in the Serenity Lock and wouldn’t let go even after the bell continued to ring. Shida’s music hit and the former AEW Women’s World Champion rushed to the ring wielding her kendo stick. Shida attacked Deeb with the weapon causing her adversary to flee into the crowd.

Ahead of their TBS Championship match at Revolution this Sunday, Tay Conti sent one final message to the champ Jade Cargill. Cargill is currently 28-0 and remains undefeated since her debut in AEW and eventually becoming the inaugural TBS Champion in January.

Cargill’s manager Mark Sterling had it set in place that Conti could not put her hands on Cargill more than 48 hours prior to their upcoming fight. In a backstage segment, Anna Jay asked Sterling what day it was alluding that it is less than 48 hours until Revolution. Conti laid out Cargill with a kick to the face and let her know she has less than 48 hours as a champion.

A third women’s match has been added to Revolution and will take place on the Buy-Ina as Legit Leyla Hirsch will face Kris Statlander.

Revolution is this Sunday, March 6 and the matches are as follows:

  • Legit Leyla Hirsch vs. Kris Statlander – Buy-In preshow
  • Jade Cargill (c) vs. Tay Conti – TBS Championship
  • Dr. Britt Baker (c) vs. Thunder Rosa – AEW Women’s World Championship
