IMPACT OverDrive Preview & Predictions: 11.18.22

IMPACT’s next special event is tonight and it is titled OverDrive. There are three Knockouts matches set for the show. The matches are as follows –

Mickie James vs. Taylor Wilde

Knockouts World Tag Team Championship:

Death Dollz (c) vs. Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans

Last Knockout Standing Knockouts World Championship:

Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Masha Slamovich

Mickie James is firmly in her Last Rodeo tour. James announced at the start of September that she was going on her last run and it isn’t going to stop until she either loses a match. Her goal is to make it back to the Knockouts World Championship. If she loses as she climbs the ladder or loses a title match she will hang up her boots.

She most recently defeated Chelsea Green who is a familiar opponent. Now, she will be facing someone she has never gone one-on-one with – Taylor Wilde.

Predictions:

COLBY:

It’s kind of wild (no pun intended) that Mickie James and Taylor Wilde have never competed against each other throughout their storied careers. The stars have aligned and we’re finally witnessing this dream match perhaps at the end of Mickie’s career. Hardcore Country is in the midst of her Last Rodeo, and it’s hard to believe she loses here. When all is said and done, I predict these two will have even more respect for each other.

Winner – Mickie James

NICK:

I would find it odd if Mickie didn’t make it to a championship match in all of this. This match, although has a predictable outcome, should be an exciting one to watch. A first time match up is always fun as well. Mickie will take the win and will likely, I would think, face whoever the champ will be at Hard to Kill in January.

Winner – Mickie James

Next up is the Knockouts World Tag Team Championships. The Knockouts tag team division is certainly struggling at the moment. The lack of teams and lack of Knockouts at this time, in general, is going to be an issue that hopefully will be solved soon. The Death Dollz defeated VXT recently for the titles and now with VXT over due to Chelsea Green’s departure we have Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans stepping up as challengers.

The tag titles have often swapped a lot back and forth quickly. So how will this match pan out?

Predictions:

COLBY: The Death Dollz will put their gold on the line against Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans. Steelz, in particular, is looking to bounce back after losing the Knockouts World title earlier this year. She’s held the tag titles once with Kiera Hogan, but Evans has yet to hold a title in IMPACT. The mean streak that they are currently on will no doubt lead to them winning the titles at some point, but I don’t think it’s happening here. In order to establish both the Death Dollz and the tag division, I believe the champions need to retain here.

Winners – Death Dollz

NICK: The Knockouts division is suffering a bit with their roster dwindling. Unless Jessicka or Taya are planning on departing as well, I don’t see a reason for them to lose here. Most likely they will retain and hopefully get some more opponents shortly.

Winners – Death Dollz

Lastly, we have a rematch for the Knockouts World Championship. For a second time, Jordynne Grace will be defending against Masha Slamovich. Slamovich has had a winning streak since joining IMPACT until she hit a wall of Grace. She showed her time going for the gold isn’t up when she returned and slammed Grace on a pile of steel chairs with the Snowplow.

Now the two heated rivals will go at it in a Last Knockout Standing Match.

Predictions:

COLBY:

Fans have been awaiting Masha Slamovich’s return to television following her first loss this year at Bound For Glory. Jordynne Grace did what no other woman in IMPACT has been able to do, and that’s only pissed off the Russian Dynamite even more. Slamovich reemerged last week and made her intentions known that she plans to be the last woman standing in their feud. It’s hard to imagine Slamovich losing a second match in a row to Grace, even though the champion is having the run of her career. With that being said, I’m predicting a new champion.

Winner – Masha Slamovich

NICK:

I can see this going either way. I don’t think it is time for Jordynne to lose already, but I can’t see Masha losing again, especially so close to her last loss. Regardless of who does win, I do see Mickie facing them soon. I think I am going to stick with the champ.

Winner – Jordynne Grace
