Jacy Jayne Defends NXT Championship Against Lainey Reid! Blake Monroe Is Ready To Shine

On the June 10, 2025 episode of WWE NXT we’re looking forward to Evolution on the horizon! Ava laid the groundwork for the next big challenger—and let’s just say, Jacy Jayne’s grip on that title might not be as secure as she thinks.

The show kicked off with a recap of last week’s chaotic Championship Inauguration, which ended with the entire locker room reminding Jacy Jayne that no one voted her queen.

Backstage, Jacy tried asserting some control, questioning Ava about a new signee (which, for the record, should apparently be cleared through her now?). Jacy cited Fallon Henley’s recent title loss as a cautionary tale and floated the idea of being more collaborative. Lainey Reid answered that with a slap to the face—twice. That Southern fire’s still burning. Jacy tried to play it cool, but seconds later she demanded a match with Lainey tonight.

Elsewhere earlier today, Sol Ruca and Zaria were filming some content when Lash Legend took it upon herself to stir the pot—specifically with Wren Sinclair, mocking her for Myles Borne’s exit from NQCC. Kelani Jordan stepped in, tired of Lash’s constant trash talk. Wren stood her ground. And now we’ve got a match. Let’s get into it.

Lash Legend vs. Wren Sinclair

Wren came out with focus, landing a tight waistlock as Lash tried (and failed) to ignore Kelani on commentary. Wren hit a corner dropkick and threw a few shots, but Lash powered through and tossed her into the ropes like it was nothing. Wren nearly turned things around with a sunset flip into a trip and a nasty-looking Cattle Mutilation, flowing right into an elbow lock. Technical game strong.

But Lash wasn’t here to get fancy. She booted Wren in the face and stomped her into the ropes, taking time between holds to jaw at Kelani. That distraction nearly cost her: Wren escaped a bearhug, ducked a clothesline, landed a DDT, and looked ready to finish. She went high-risk with a springboard rana off the apron, but Lash caught her mid-air and didn’t let her recover.

Wren escaped momentarily and nailed a crisp enzuigiri, then climbed up for a dive—only to get caught again. Lash drove her into the mat with a brutal modified slam and secured the three-count.

Winner: Lash Legend

Lash gets the win, but Kelani’s presence clearly rattled her. Expect that we’re building up to something there.

NXT aired a slick vignette straight out of a high-end perfume commercial—except instead of selling you fragrance, it introduced Blake Monroe. In a bathtub surrounded by bubbles, a voiceover hyped her as beautiful, dangerous, and overdue. “The glamour is the reason the spotlight exists,” the narrator declared. If you liked Mariah May, you might just love Blake Monroe—though odds are, she won’t care either way.

Before the main event, we get a segment on Lainey Reid, the self-proclaimed “Southern Sensation.” With an athletic résumé and a bold mindset, she made it clear she wasn’t planning to wait her turn. Her target? Jacy Jayne. Her claim? “Most beatable champion in history.” Bold. But after tonight? Not baseless.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Lainey Reid

Lainey blitzed the champ from the opening bell, rolling Jacy up for two before lighting her up with kicks and corner offense. She kept the pressure on with a crossbody from the top, but couldn’t get the pin. Jacy, rattled, slowed things down with a knee to the ribs and a bodyslam, then two sentons and some smug posturing to regain control.

But Lainey wasn’t fading. She popped back with punches, elbows, and a twisting suplex that nearly scored the win. Just as things were heating up, Fallon Henley showed up on the ramp. Jacy took full advantage of the distraction, catching Lainey with the Rolling Encore for the win.

Winner (and still champion): Jacy Jayne

It wasn’t clean, but it was a win. Jacy retains and doesn’t hesitate to remind the audience of it—until Ava shows up.

Ava walked out with a mic and a plan. She reminded Jacy that while FI chose her first title defense, Ava gets to choose the next. Next week, four women will compete in singles matches. The winners will then face off in a fatal four-way to determine the number one contender for NXT Evolution.

Jacy looked annoyed. Fallon didn’t look thrilled either. Jazmyn Nyx might have had murder in her eyes. And Lainey, recovering in the corner, looked ready.
