Jade Cargill vs. Asuka Set For QOTR Final; Lynch Retains By DQ

The finals for the Queen of the Ring is set and Jade Cargill will be taking on Asuka at Night of Champions. Cargill defeated Roxanne Perez on the June 23 episode of Raw to make the finals. Perez targeted Cargill’s knee through out the bout to try and keep her down, but it was no match for Jaded in the end.

Post match, Asuka made her way out to the stage as the two finalist met face-to-face.

Later in the night, Asuka was in the locker room with Women’s World Champion IYO SKY. SKY mentioned that we could get herself vs. Asuka and mentioned Damage CTRL. Asuka says they aren’t Damage CTRL any longer and that she would see her at SummerSlam.

Becky Lynch defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Bayley. Before the match, Bayley made sure Lyra Valkyria knew that they were okay and said when she becomes champion, Lyra would get first defense.

Late in the match, Lynch buries Bayley in a pile full of chairs behind the announce table. Lynch was betting on a count out win, but Valkyira emerged to get Bayley out of the rubble and back into the ring. Lynch continued to taunt Valkyria to her to cause a DQ. Bayley got back in the match, but Valkyria gave up trying to hold back on Lynch and attacked her causing the DQ.

After the match, Bayley was not happy with Valkyria who costed her the title.

Ivy Nile was backstage getting coached by Chad Gable. He said he always has appreciated her more than the Creeds. He admired her from being in the MITB match and the QOTR tournament, blaming Stephanie Vaquer for Nile losing at both.

A backstage moment took place with Sheamus saying to Natalya and Maxxine about them being a good fit for the tag titles. They still aren’t referring to them as the Dungeon Dolls despite them having merch.

Speaking of the tag titles, we still aren’t sure what is going to happen to them with Liv Morgan out with injury. However, Raquel Rodriguez had both title belts and called out Rhea Ripley out to the ring. Ripley cost Rodriguez from advancing in the QOTR tournament last week.

Ripley and Rodriguez brawled in and outside the ring. Rodriguez introduced a table into the fight and Ripley attempted to turn it to her favor. As she was about to hit a Riptide to Rodriguez through the table, Roxanne Perez came out and helped. This allowed Rodriguez to stand tall as she landed Ripley through the table with the Tejana Bomb. Rodriguez helped up Perez and showed her thanks.
