It has been reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that Kairi Sane and Zelina Vega are no longer with WWE. They join previous names today of Nikki Cross, Zoey Stark, and Alba Fyre. It is not determined at this time if any of these departures are from contracts expiring or releases during contract time.
Sane was in her second run with WWE. She had left her first contract in 2021, letting that contract expire, to return to Japan at that time. She returned in 2023 and would eventually join Damage CTRL and revive the Kabuki Warriors with Asuka. During her second run, she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles for the third time with Asuka. She is a former NXT Women’s Champion and won the first Mae Young Classic.
Sane has also been in a very popular storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY. She has had matches weekly leading up to her departure.
Zelina Vega is another talent who had previously been released. She has worked for the company since 2017 and was released and re-signed in 2021. She went on to become a WWE Women’s United States Champion and Queen of the Ring. She also held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Carmella.
Vega’s husband, Aleister Black, has also been released for a second time along with her. The couple were on screen together for the past several months.
Both Sane and Vega have been in the industry for majority of their lives. Sane working mostly in Japan and multi-decorated in STARDOM, while Vega had a run in TNA.
