Kelani Jordan Crowned New TNA Knockouts Champion

In a crazy unexpected night at TNA Victory Road, NXT’s Kelani Jordan is the new TNA Knockouts World Champion.

Prior to Victory Road taking place, the original TNA Knockouts World Title match was removed from the card. Amid an internal investigation from a real life abuse allegations against Masha Slamovich, her match against Ash by Elegance was canceled.

During the show, Ash by Elegance gave an emotional speech where she explained that she needs to step away from the ring. She then relinquished the title. A battle royal took place after this announcement. The final two remaining in that battle royal would go on to fight for the vacant title. Those two were Lei Ying Lee and NXT’s Kelani Jordan. Indi Hartwell served as the guest referee of the title match.

Jordan won the match making her the second NXT Superstar to win TNA gold this year (behind Jacy Jayne). Jordan is a former and inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. TNA and NXT are just getting started with an invasion storyline now that Jordan holds TNA gold should make this more interesting.

Hartwell is currently the number one contender and will now face Jordan at Bound for Glory next month. Hartwell won this opportunity in a Three Way a few weeks ago which also included Jody Threat and Dani Luna.
