On Sunday, TNA had its Border Brawl special event which was Canada vs. the U.S.A. At the event, former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly served as an ambassador for the U.S.A. While former TNA Knockouts Champion Allie held it down for Canada. The two exchanged a promo in the ring and Kelly accompanied Nic Nemeth to the ring. Allie accompanied Santino Marella.
At the event, Tessa Blanchard (USA) was planned to take on Jody Threat (Canada) but it was confirmed she was not medically cleared. Vipress took her spot and came out with the win.
On Blanchard’s status, TNA released a statement:
Tessa Blanchard did not compete at Border Brawl after sustaining Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction during her match at TNA Under Siege.
She is expected to be medically cleared and return to action imminently.
Courtney Rush (Canada) was also in action as she defeated Victoria Crawford (USA). She had a moment to reunite with Allie as they gave each other a big embrace.
A mixed 10-person tag team closed the show:
Cody Deaner, Jody Threat, Matt Hardy, Santino Marella & Tommy Dreamer defeat The System (Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, JDC & Moose)
