Kendal Grey has finally taken down the Queen of the Underground, Lola Vice. Vice was 4-0 heading into her rematch for the NXT Women’s Title.
During the match, which was the main event on this week’s episode, Grey was pulled down onto the steel steps. This cut her ear, which had to be wrapped up in order for the bout to continue.
Vice inadvertently struck the referee, knocking him down. She had the match won after putting Grey asleep, but there was no referee to call it. Wren Sinclair was at ringside trying to motivate the fading Grey. After the referee was able to get back on his feet, Grey locked in an armbar deep on Vice causing her to tap out.
After the match, a show of respect between the two took place. When NXT went off the air, Vice said her goodbyes to the fans at the WWE Performance Center. She thanked the crowd and left her gloves in the ring. Her boyfriend and one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Damian Priest, made an appearance, embracing her before her speech.
It has been rumored that Vice has been called up to SmackDown. This is unofficial at this time.
Elsewhere on this week’s NXT, Wren Sinclair defended the WWE Women’s Speed Title against Zaria. If she won, she would earn an NXT Women’s North American Title Match. Sinclair would retain her title after the match went to a time limit draw. She faces Zaria for her title next week.
A tag team match took place elsewhere on the show as Jaida Parker and Thea Hail defeated Karmen Petrovic and the Evolve Women’s Champion, Nikkita Lyons. Parker took out Lyons in the corner as Hail hit a backdrop on the champion to pin her. This is the second time Hail has pinned the champion.
