SHIMMER Volume 118 took place over the weekend along with many other shows from various independent promotions in an event called The Collective. The last SHIMMER event was supposed to occur in April in Tampa, Fla. during WrestleMania weekend. This was SHIMMER’s first show since last November.
At SHIMMER Vol. 116, Lee ended the long reign of Nicole Savoy and then retained the title against Jessicka Havok at Vol. 117. This time, she had to defend the title against the very same woman that she won the title from – Savoy.
She would go on to defeat Savoy in the main event. The final moments included Lee having Savoy in a triangle head scissors hold before ultimately releasing the hold and hitting a swanton bomb for the pin.
SHIMMER’s other two titles were on the line as both the SHIMMER Tag Team Titles and Heart of SHIMMER Title were defended.
Team Seastars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo) came into the event as champions. They defeated Cheerleader Melissa & Mercedes Martinez at Vol. 115 in November to become champions.
They would continue their reign as of this weekend when they defeated the team of Marti Belle & Allysin Kay. A team effort with a Flopping Fish finisher on Kay allowed Team SeaStars to remain champs.
The last title on the line was the Heart of SHIMMER Title as the Interim champion, Hyan, had to face Thunderkitty. The final moments of the match saw the champion hitting a spinning fisherman buster neck breaker on her opponent. Thunderkitty would bounce back and get a roll-up but it wasn’t enough to keep Hyan down for the three. Hyan hits the Beauty Sleep to get the pin to retain her title.
