Konami Ends Starlight Kid’s Wonder Of Stardom Reign; Saya Kamitani Remains Double Champ

On Nov. 3, Konami becomes the Wonder of Stardom Champion for the first time in her career. At STARDOM’s Crimson Nightmare event, Konami defeated Starlighr Kid, ending her reign at 309 days. This is also Konami’s first-ever singles championship in STARDOM. The match went over 21 minutes.

Also at this event was a match for the World of Stardom and NJPW STRONG Women’s Titles. Both held and retained by Saya Kamitani as she defeated Momo Watanabe. Watanabe stated after the match that she has to take time off to heal a knee injury.

“I’m not crying anymore. I’m strong-willed, and I’m not the kind of person to get discouraged here. I’ll never give up. I won’t give up until I take the belt from Kamitani.

I’ve been trying to manage it, but it seems I’ve reached my limit. I’m not at my best right now. That’s why, even though I’ve been giving my all with this knee, I don’t think I can become the strongest until I fix this knee.

So I’m going to take a break for a while, and then I’ll come back stronger and definitely take the belt from Kamitani. I’ve decided that now.

With H.A.T.E. as it is now, they’ll dominate STARDOM, right? So I’ll leave it to them. I’m going to rest for a bit.”

Watanabe has been chasing the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title since 2024 when Mercedes Moné was champion. She says she isn’t giving up the chase.

“I’ve made up my mind. I’m never going to give up until I take that belt from you! I’ll definitely get stronger! Don’t think I’ll be staring at your back forever!

Just you wait, you piece of shit!”

Kamitani will be facing Syuri at Wrestle Kingdom 20 on Jan. 4. Both the IWGP Women’s Title held by Syuri and the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title will be on the line.

As for the World of Stardom Title, she will defend that at Stardom Dream Queendom on Dec. 29 against Saori Anou.
