We are marching much closer towards AEW All In and we continue to determine the fate of the card tonight on AEW Dynamite.
We open the show with none other than the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm. But before she can make her grand entrance, “The CEO” Mercedes Moné attacks Storm in the backstage area. Storm is beaten all the way up to the stage until she is saved by Mina Shirakawa. Moné retorts last week’s message to “let the games begin.”
After the announcement of the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In, tonight we determine the #1 spot for the match amongst AEW’s top competitors: Kris Statlander, the ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, Willow Nightingale, and Thunder Rosa.
Athena immediately spills quickly outside the ring but gets back in as the action is fast-paced. Among the four, Nightingale proves why she’s the powerhouse of this match.
Rosa and Athena go at it, but get taken out by the two former friends as they go face-to-face.
Athena tells Billie Starkz to get her championship but seems to get ahead of herself as both meet the floor.
Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta of The Death Riders get involved and target Nightingale. She doesn’t stand for this as Nightingale pounces Yuta, but loses focus as Statlander hits the piledriver to secure her #1 spot at All In. Shafir is almost pleased with this result.
But that’s not all folks as next week on the 300th episode of Dynamite, Moné will have to defend her TBS title against Mina Shirakawa.
What did you think about tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Can Statlander secure her shot at the World Championship? Can Shirakawa swipe the title from Moné? Let us know in the comments below!
