Hola a todos, welcome to the Honor Club! This week we had a couple of in-ring debuts and the continuation of the Pure Rules Tournament!
Stori Denali made a big splash in the ROH division; the young giant made her in-ring debut in a mixed tag match as part of the Premiere Athletes, facing JD Ink, El Magnifico, and Rebecca Scott.
In the match’s final moments, Scott tried to take on Denali, but unphased Stori finished things up with a big boot and her now signature chokeslam!
Next, NJPW/AEW star Viva Van had a pure rules match against the one and only Deonna Purrazzo.
The code of honor was respected, and both were ready to go, but like most, it was no match for the technical abilities of the Virtuossa, which took advantage of each and every second to get the upper hand.
After using all of her rope breaks, Van channeled her inner Joshi, hitting Purrazzo with a springboard missile dropkick and a backfist for a near fall. Deonna finished things up with a spiked piledriver for the win.
In a backstage segment, Deonna complains about the women’s division, talking about how she is the foundation of ROH’s women’s division, only to be interrupted and eventually knocked out by Trish Adora.
A quick recap of Mina’s last title defense at Supercard of Honor was shown, then we got the big return to the mainstream wrestling scene and the debut of the one and only party bird, Lacey Lane.
They shook hands (after Mina was able to set free her hand from her jacket) and had a (sexy) and even back and forth; both went kick by kick, building momentum.
Shirakawa planted the seed of her opponent’s demise, working on Lane’s leg whenever she could, and after a hard looking back first and locking the figure 4 twice, Mina won and retained her title.
Lastly, we got the continuation of the pure rules tournament, this time between the body of CMLL Olympia and ROH darling Billie Starkz.
Despite her antics of the previous months (and years), Billie had the crowd behind her. With no rush, they had a nice technical exchange.
Overconfident things did not go as planned at first for Starks, eating a powerbomb and the floor after a failed suicide dive. Easygoing Olympia impressed everyone with her known strength and a nice springboard frog splash for a near fall.
In a really good match, both women pull out all the stops to advance in the tournament; at the end, Billie got her wish with a crucifix pin for the three count.Becoming the second semi finalist.
This will be all for now; let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
