Since being injured during her match against Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at SummerSlam in late July, Becky Lynch has been sidelined. Some have expected her return in September, which has come and gone.
Per Fightful, earlier this month, a rumor emerged that Lynch was ahead of schedule for her return due to a shoulder injury and would be back at the end of last month. When Fightful inquired about this they were told that nobody in WWE confirmed that and even beyond that the company had yet to follow up with Lynch about a possible return at this point. It was never slated for September.
From sustaining her shoulder injury at SummerSlam, WWE had hopes that Lynch would at least be able to avoid surgery and return in a few months after rehab. Lynch was at the site of Raw this past Monday but as of early September, Fightful was told that it would be at least a couple of months before she could get near a ring. There’s no timetable for her return.
Talking to WWE creative, Fightful was told that they were hoping to have Lynch back by the end of the year but that wasn’t a guarantee and were being optimistic in the hope that she didn’t need surgery. It has not been confirmed if surgery is required.
