Laynie Luck Becomes New WWE ID Women’s Champion

Indie talent Laynie Luck has been ID’d as she wins the WWE ID Women’s Championship at the Wrestling Open RI event on Nov. 17. Luck had two matches at this event in order to become champion.

First, Luck qualified for the match last as she won a single fall six-way qualifier match at the start of the show. Other talents involved in this qualifier match were Angelica Risk, Jordan Blade, Kaitlyn Marie, Niki XS, and Lili Ruiz.

In the championship match, Luck faced Arica Demia, Brittnie Brooks, Notorious Mimi, Shannon LeVangie, and Tiara James. This was an elimination match. Luck has been working on the indies since 2015. As a ten-year veteran, she has made appearances in TNA, AEW, ROH, SHIMMER, and more.

Luck becomes the second champion under the WWE ID Women’s Champion umbrella. The inaugural champion was Kylie Rae, who also appeared on Evolve. She has since had her contract non-renewed.
