At Friday’s TNA Final Resolution event, Lei Ying Lee had her first title defense as TNA Knockouts World Champion. It was against her Angel Warriors tag team partner, Xia Brookside. Brookside won a number one contenders match against Dani Luna this week on iMPACT! to get the title opportunity.
The final moments of the championship match had Lee countering the Brooksie Bomb but Brookside hits a tornado DDT instead. Back up, the champion connected with a spinning heel kick and then landed a swinging facebuster to retain.
Post match, the tag team partners continued to show their unity and respect for one another and embrace with a hug. Dani Luna, not happy that Brookside defeated her for this title opportunity raced down the ramp and laid out both Knockouts. However, Indi Hartwell emerged and the heated rivalry between Hartwell and Luna continues as they had to be pulled apart by security. Hartwell was the reason why Luna lost out on this title opportunity and Brookside received it.
Luna and Hartwell will face off in a dog collar match next Thursday on iMPACT!
Elsewhere at Final Resolution, the Knockouts Tag Team Titles were on the line. The IInspiration were able to successfully defend against Tessa Blanchard and Victoria Crawford. Ash by Elegance was on commentary while Robert Stone accompanied Blanchard & Crawford. The rest of the Elegance Brand were watching the match backstage.
The final moments of the match saw Cassie Lee start mounting some offense. Stone hands one of the tag title belts to Blanchard but Jessie McKay disarms her from the attempt. The match breaks down to be a bit uncontrollable as The Elegance Brand joined ringside. The IInspiration would get the win by landing Crawford in the IIdolizer to retain.
Mara Sadé continued to take it to Ryan Nemeth.
